E3 vs CrisisGo: which one fits your school?
Both send the alert. Watch what happens in the four minutes after.
On a feature list these two look alike, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Both alert, both map, both account for students. The question worth answering is what your staff can actually see and do while it is happening.
The short answer
Both platforms alert staff and put a floor plan on screen. The difference is what that floor plan tells you. E3 is built around accountability: rooms change state as staff check in, roll call runs against your SIS roster from any staff device, and everyone is watching the same picture at the same time. CrisisGo covers a wider surface area, including visitor screening, so the right answer depends on whether you are buying breadth or depth.

Two floor plans, two different answers
Both platforms show you a map during an incident. What they put on it is where the two products separate.
The incident, located
CrisisGo alerts staff, shows where the incident is, and carries accountability and reunification inside a wide suite that also covers visitor screening, wearables, and a long list of intercom and signage integrations. If you want one vendor across a broad surface area, that breadth is a real advantage and we are not going to talk you out of it.
The incident, and everyone in it
E3 starts in the same place and then keeps going. Two taps and a teacher checks in, and their room changes state. A minute in, the floor plan is a live accountability picture: rooms that are safe, rooms that are cleared, rooms that have not answered. A teacher two halls away sees the same thing your principal does. Everything E3 does is pointed at closing the gap between the alert and knowing where everybody is.
Settling the feature question first
Most comparison pages spend their length pretending the other product is missing things. Here is the honest version instead, so you can stop checking boxes and go judge the two on how they behave.
| Capability | Emergent3 | CrisisGo |
|---|---|---|
| Alerting from any staff device | One tap, overriding silent mode | Alerting across phone, desktop, and wearables |
| Interactive campus mapping | Smart Maps built from your floor plans | Mapping with live incident views |
| Student accountability and roll call | Roster-based from your SIS, run from any staff device | Accountability included in the platform |
| Reunification | Native and included, with QR-verified parent pickup | Reunification included in the platform |
| Drill mode and after-action reports | Auto-generated after every drill and event | Drill reporting included |
| Live check-in status on the incident map | Rooms change state as staff respond: safe, cleared, no answer yet | Not described in their published material |
| Staff status without waiting on the full roster | A teacher is marked safe the moment they check in | Not described in their published material |
| Scope beyond emergency response | Emergency response only | Also visitor screening, signage, and intercom integrations |
This is the part we cannot put in a table
One alert, then staff checking in. Watch the floor plan stop being a location and start being an answer.
-
Is everyone safe?
Rooms answer one by one and the map fills in as they do. You are watching accountability happen instead of waiting on a report.
-
Who is missing?
Roll call pulls straight from your roster, so the answer is a student and a room. Not a headcount that comes up short by two.
-
You get to them sooner
Every minute between the alert and full accountability is a minute a child is unaccounted for. Closing that gap is the entire point.
Switching is more straightforward than the contract makes it look.
Most schools that move to E3 are already running something. Tell us when your term ends and we will align start dates so you are never paying two vendors at once.
How the change usually goes
- 1Tell us your renewal date and we align the start so terms do not overlap
- 2We build your Smart Maps from your floor plans and load your existing EOPs
- 3We onboard your local police and fire so they have live map access inside your incidents
- 4Live admin and staff training, then you go live in weeks with nothing installed in any building
Which one you should actually buy
We would rather you pick correctly than pick us.
You are consolidating a wide surface area
You want visitor screening, signage, and intercom integrations from the same vendor as your alerting, and having one contract across all of it matters more than depth in any one part. That is a legitimate way to buy, and they cover more ground than we do.
Accountability is the part that worries you
You are worried about minutes after and alert goes out, when you need to know who is safe and where they are. That is the problem E3 was built around, and it is the part of this comparison a demo will settle faster than a feature list.
Questions schools ask us about E3 and CrisisGo
What is the actual difference between E3 and CrisisGo?
On capability they are close. Both alert staff, map the campus, account for students, run reunification, and produce drill reports. The difference is where each one puts its weight. CrisisGo covers a wider surface area, including visitor screening and a long list of integrations. E3 is pointed entirely at the response, and specifically at accountability: rooms changing state as staff check in, roll call against your SIS roster from any staff device, and everyone watching the same picture at once.
Does CrisisGo do roll call, reunification, and drill reports?
Yes. All three are part of their platform. If someone tells you otherwise, they are working from old information. What is worth asking them is how accountability appears on the map during a live drill, and whether a teacher's own status is visible before their full class roster is finished.
What should we be looking at when we evaluate both?
How few steps it takes a classroom teacher to send an alert and check in, since that is what happens under stress. Whether the map updates on its own as staff respond, or only shows where the alert came from. And what documentation exists the moment a drill ends. Those separate the platforms more than a feature list does, including ours.
Does E3 do visitor management?
No, not at all. CrisisGo offers visitor screening through iPass. If you want screening and alerting from a single vendor, that is a real point in their favour and you should weigh it.
We are already on CrisisGo. How hard is it to switch?
Most schools are live in a few weeks. Tell us your renewal date and we align start dates so you are never running two contracts at once. We build your Smart Maps from your floor plans and load your existing emergency plans, and there is no hardware to install.
Can we use a school safety grant to pay for E3?
Usually yes. Schools commonly fund E3 through the federal COPS School Violence Prevention Program and state safety grants. Tell us your state and we will tell you what is open and when it closes.
Comparing other options?
We keep an honest side-by-side for every platform schools ask us about.
